About New York University

NYU Wagner’s Urban Planning Program, located in a global city, provides students with the knowledge and skills to improve the built environment of cities and the well-being of their residents. Based in a school of public service, our program emphasizes the context in which planning takes place, teaching students how to engage various stakeholders and navigate political, organizational, legal, and financial environments. Learning from a wide array of courses, full-time faculty, and leading practitioners, together with the vibrant and diverse neighborhoods around them, NYU students develop the organizational and analytical skills essential to meet 21st century urban challenges.

Points of Distinction

NYU Wagner's program provides students with both planning and implementation skills, offering core classes in land use, spatial analysis, visualization, as well as policy, management, and finance. Our students can take planning-related graduate electives and work at leading urban research centers across the university. Our New York City location provides access to an extensive set of internship opportunities, instructors engaged in both cutting edge research and practice, alumni in top positions, and professional networks and events.
