Wayne State's Master of Urban Planning is a professionally oriented degree that focuses on the preparation of planners who will be employed by governments, planning consultants, or community-based organizations. The Master of Urban Planning program offers a legacy-cities--places that are impacted by the forces of de-industrialization, de-population, segregation and divisive public policy-- focused, Detroit community committed curriculum, scholarship, and service. The program places emphasis on one-on-one advising with professors. Student are required to complete a plan of work.
