About Jackson State University

The Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning at Jackson State University is a student-centric program designed to empower students to actively engage with and contribute to identifying communities' needs and proposing innovative solutions while fostering a positive personalized learning experience. Students participate in community-based projects, internships, and planning initiatives that address local and regional issues. The Program educates and trains students to pursue exciting careers in fields such as community development and housing, environment and land use, and urban design and provides students with the skills and knowledge to lead and contribute to improving urban and regional environments.

Points of Distinction

Jackson State University's is Mississipp's Urban University. The Masters in Urban & Regional Planning is the only accredited Urban Planning program in the state of Mississippi.
