Ruoran Liu’s research focuses on industrial and technological innovation strategies to achieve sustainable economic development in de-industrialized regions needing economic restructuring. Her doctoral dissertation is titled “Old World in the New Economy: Shaping Metropolitan America’s Innovation Landscape through a Half Century of Patented Traditional Technologies.”
